It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like...

This past weekend, Brian and I completed the 10-hour trek back to Maryland for an extended Christmas vacation. Before we left, I tried to decorate our house just a little to get us in the holiday spirit (or in as much of the holiday spirit as 75 degree weather will let you). I know we will be able to decorate more in the years to come, so I was perfectly okay starting out with a few touches here and there, including our Christmas card holder. And, of course, our first joint Christmas tree. :)

Our first Christmas season failure was being unable to find the perfect topper for our tree. I am still holding out hope that we'll find the perfect star or angel and be able to take it home with us, even if Christmas will technically be over.

First peppermint mocha of the year :)
Showing our Raven's pride, of course
Our engagement ornament from last year
I'm a little sad I forgot to get a picture of our official new ornament for this year, the Lenox "Our First Christmas" ornament. It's not technically our first Christmas together, but it is our first Christmas as a family. And that gives me the warm fuzzies, so I think it's okay.

Poor topper-less tree. If that's our only shortcoming this season, I think I'll consider it a success.

LOVE the Ravens ornament, especially because it's on a crab shell. So bmore :)

I think your decor is just perfect. I love how classic and traditional it all is. My firs time at your blog! Can't wait to read more.
