While I expected to have to deal with some growing pains associated with finally not being a long-distance couple for the first time in our relationship, with a little bit of effort, negotiating time spent together and time for our own separate lives has actually been relatively easy. I also expected to start to take our time together for granted, and I would be lying if I said that I haven't. But in the back of my head, there is that reminder that this is temporary, and that there will be other goodbyes.
However, there is one large problem I've discovered since Brian has been home; we definitely tolerate temperatures differently. The weather here has been perfect (to me); sunny and 75-85 degrees. Which means wearing lots of fun summer shorts, skirts, and sundresses and driving with the windows and sunroof open, listening to country music. But for some reason, Brian is trying to freeze me! Anytime we are in his room or in the car, he has the AC cranking full-blast; eventually, it feels like we are somewhere in the Arctic. On the way to the beach this past weekend, I had to steal a pair of his socks because my feet were so cold.
Now, I know that I get cold more easily than the average person and Brian is really sensitive to being hot. When he's too hot, he might even get a teeeeeny bit grouchy. But certainly our life together (which will eventually take us to Georgia, which, if you didn't realize, is definitely in the south) isn't going to involve me carrying around sweaters, sweatshirts, and thick, woolly socks in the heat of the summer...
Is it?!

haha Oh my gosh you two are just like me and my boyfriend. I have to close the a/c vents on my side of the car because of how cold I get! I'm glad you're not in a LDR for right now...MIGM and I have spent 5 consecutive weeks together..it was definitely interesting b/c in our case we pretty much spent every single minute together! That can get exhausting, ha!
What is it with boys and turning up the AC? My fiance is the same way!
Oh that picture is too funny!! I am sure it is an adjustment but a good adjustment!! :)
Well, it might! I wear sweatshirts in my house, in the South, because we run the AC so low to keep my husband happy!
Haha well at least you're not sweating up a storm...I'm in Houston - and even when the weather isn't ridiculously hot, it's ridiculously HUMID.
I miss winter...
haha i like this post!
we are constantly switching the A/C on and off in the car, so you're not alone!
Oh my gosh I can so relate! My husband freezes me out year round as well. I actually find that when I'm sleeping now I need for it to be cool or I don't sleep as well!
I can totally relate to this! I always am under a blanket in summer because the A/C has to be turned on WAY too high!
Aw, I love this post!!
I am so happy that you guys are getting this time together :)
S and I haven't had more than 10 days of living together, 5 weeks of being home but me having to share him with family but there is still SO much adjustment to having them around.
S is ALWAYS hot and I am always comfortable so usually it ends up being me freezing... lol
OMG, My bf and I are the exact same way! I get cold so easily and he always thinks my place it so hot.
I'm new to blogging and just wanted to say that I really enjoy your blog! I can relate to so many things from being in a long distance relationship, my bf is an Army Officer and I'm in graduate school, just to name a few!
ha! Too cute on the photo.. but yeah.. boys seem to like it SO COLD! I about DIE at Eric's house sometimes.. For the most part, it's okay.. but the car is the worst! Funny! Glad ya'll are getting to spend so much time together...and also able to keep a good balance! :) Have a great weekend!
