Post Night 2010

Tonight, Brian made one of his last big decisions at WP: where he will live after graduation! Posts are picked the same way as branches, according to class rank. Brian was ranked 7th in his branch, and there were only 4 slots for the post he really wanted!

As much as we both wanted me to be there, I couldn't make it fit into my schedule with classes, finances, and going back up to New York on Friday. I was bummed, but I did what I could and wore my lucky shoes for him! Brian finds this ridiculously funny because 1) they are Chucks, which (let's face it) are funny looking and 2) according to him, they are "so dirty!" (I prefer "well-loved.)

I had class tonight, so I sat there not paying attention for almost three hours with my stomach absolutely tied in knots. I didn't expect to feel so nervous! As I was driving home, my phone finally rang and I heard the words I had been waiting to hear: "We're going to...

...Georgia!"

His first choice! Brian graduates in May, has a couple of months of training, and then will move to his post just outside of Savannah in December!

I can't wait to see how the next chapter of our lives unfolds in the land of peaches, pecans, sunshine, and sweet tea! We certainly have a lot to celebrate in NYC this weekend. :)

Congratulations!! My husband went to Savannah College of Art & Design & was down there when we started dating. I would go down there every weekend and I loved it!! You have the city & the downtown hustle & bustle, but you can escape to Tybee anytime. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did! (I'm trying to convince my hubby to go back for 1 more year to do his master's - which would mean I could go back, too! Pipe dreams.. :-))
