So glad that's over!

I have written probably a million words in my 16 years of education. Incredibly lengthy papers. Two senior seminar theses in my final semester of undergrad. You'd think I'd learn something by now.

For me, big projects usually go something like this: I get a good idea, I find decent sources, I procrastinate for a couple of weeks until it's a night or two before it's due, I stay up until the wee hours of the morning trying to finish it, I curse education and wonder why I even need to learn anything or get a a degree at all, and then I finally turn in the project and never look back.

Let me just say that I am so glad to leave this one behind.

Now I am up in New York, and our hotel is SO COOL! I got up here early to check in and avoid traffic, and it looks just like a mountain lodge! Plus, I get to see my boyfriend in less than an hour! That makes the stress of this week worth it. We have an exciting weekend of holiday cheer planned in the city that is the epicenter of Christmas spirit! I can't wait! I hope you all have fabulous weekends! :)

Oh, and P.S. Some of you may have caught President Obama's speech on Afghanistan at WP on Tuesday night. Brian got to sit in the second row and shake hands with the President! Political feelings aside, I thought it was so neat! Here are a couple of pictures (with captions courtesy of my lovely boyfriend).

"Obama in the heezy (and by heezy I mean Ike Hall)."

"Look mom, I'm close to the President!"

"My hand waiting not so patiently to be shaken."

"My big moment, left hand camera, right hand Obama...
sorry about my finger, it got excited and wanted to be in the picture."

What a goof. I'm sure the Prez really appreciated that close-up.

I was wondering if your boy would have been there when I hear it was going to be at West Point! As you said, political views aside that is pretty cool.

Have an amazing weekend together!

That is SO awesome that he got to shake the presidents hand. I am muchos jealous (even being Canadian) I have myself a crush on Mr. Obama ;)
