Every time I go to the grocery store after I've been to the gym, I am reminded of why I should never,
ever do that. Being exhausted and hungry, I am prone to picking up things that I had
no intention whatsoever of buying (but that I can
kind of justify, because hey, I just worked out). Then, somehow, those things just find their way into my basket...

My reason for going to the grocery store this time was to pick up the couple ingredients I needed to make
Strawberry Granita (which makes my Nutella purchase okay, because I had good, healthy intentions). I think of granita as kind of a grown-up snowball (and who doesn't like snowballs?). Or maybe it's a bit like a sorbet. I've been lusting over an ice cream maker for a while now, but this doesn't require one and may have quelled my desire for a frozen summery treat. At least for a
little while.
Anyway, a granita is one of the easiest desserts you could ever make, as long as you are a patient person. If you're looking for instant gratification, this is
not for you. But, if you don't mind a couple hours for it to set up, you can make dinner and relax for a bit in the time it takes this to be done. This strawberry granita also only requires four ingredients: strawberries, sugar, water, and lemon juice. How easy is that?! It even looks pretty too...
For some reason, recipes like this make me want to find an excuse to invite over all my friends and have a party!
